Striker star Siddharth loves quick naps, beer and butter chicken on Sundays
• Sleeping in… seems just right on Sundays after a long week of slogging. Luckily, I have the liberty of getting up late as there's no one to wake me up. So, Sunday mornings invariably begin very late.
• Sitting in front of the TV… doing absolutely nothing is how I start my Sundays.
• A heavy Sunday brunch… includes everything oily and tasty. My favourites like butter chicken and biryani are must-haves in this meal. This brunch is usually consumed in front of the TV, when I catch up with my DVD watching. The playlist is always a mix of foreign films, Hollywood blockbusters, old classics and even Tamil and Telegu movies.
• Playing games on my Nintendo Wii… is a favourite pastime on Sundays. While The Legend of Zelda is my favourite game, I also love Okami. My gaming session extends over 2-3 hours at a stretch.
• A power nap… for an hour is essential and I take one whenever I feel like during the day.
• Friends come over… and we sit around lazing and watching sports on TV.
• Jazz seems to work best… for setting the mood on Sundays and is usually played through the day.
• Roads in Hyderabad are fantastic… so I get enough joy driving through the week. This means no need to go on drives on a Sunday or to even step out of home, for that matter.
• Sitting and snacking at India Gate… for hours was a regular feature of my Sunday during my childhood. The weather used to be nice and breezy and I always looked forward to the ice-cream that I was promised by my parents.
• Cheap beer pitchers… would warrant a Sunday trip to Independence Café in Bandra or Café Mondegar or Leopold's Café during my college days when I was pursuing my MBA from SP Jain in Mumbai.
• A typical boys’ evening… is what I enjoy now. Watching sports, playing poker with lots of food and beer would keep us happy. I do have some favourite watering holes in Hyderabad that we visit often, like N, but that is only if we plan to go out.
• Reading a good book in bed… is the best way to end the Sunday. I have a Kindle (an electronic ebook reader). The last book I enjoyed reading on it was Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. The author is an out of the world storyteller and most of his books have been adapted as graphic novels.
