Kadhalil Sodhappuvathu Yeppadi: How a short film turned into feature film

Kadahalil Sodhappuvathi Yeppadi, a remake of a short film with the same name and by the same director, Balaji Mohan, is running quite successfully.

The director decided to make good the opportunity when his short film became popular on YouTube.
Balaji says, “Cinematographer, Nirav Shah saw the short film and helped to reach out to producers and actors. The short film created a good identity for me. It was a challenge to convert a short film, no more than a few minutes long, into a feature film. Keeping to the main plot I just expanded the characters in the film.”
Balaji has made five short films and learnt filmmaking in the process.

He says, “Short films help you to be innovative. It is a good platform for young directors to showcase their talent.”
