Wait prolongs for Ali Zafar as Chashme Baddoor gets pushed

Chashme Buddoor has been postponed from its original August release plan and there is uncertainty around the final D-Day.

"The film was earlier supposed to come just 9 days after Ek Thi Tiger(which releases on August 15). However it was decided to look for a better date instead of coming so soon after the Salman Khan starrer which is expected to break records. In any case it would have been too much of 'khichdi' due to a clash with Farah Khan's Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi which was already on the anvil", informs our well places source.

This is when it was felt that instead of arriving amidst a crowd, it was better to hold on for a while and come when the situation is a little less cluttered. Moreover for David Dhawan too, the film is crucial for reasons more than one. First and foremost he has to wipe off the disappointment of Rascals. Secondly he has the pressure of remaking the Farooq Sheikh-Deepti Naval starrer that has attained cult status over the decades. Thirdly, this is the first time he is working with relative newcomers.

"We all felt that it was better to postpone Chashme Baddoor so as to get good screens and show timings. The film has been made with so much love. We don't want to come in a crowd and are trying to find the best release date", says Dhawan

However it would be interesting to see the placement that Chashme Baddoor gets in weeks to come since September and October are already choc-o-block with Raaz 3, Barfi, Heroine, English Vinglish, Ishkq In Paris, OMG Oh My God!, Student Of The Year, Ajab Gazabb Love, Aiyya, Rush and 1920 - Evil Returns
